WHY THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT?
John 3:34 If there are measures of the Holy Spirit. Would we not
want a full measure?
Acts 8:14-17 Apostles at Jerusalem … They went about
administering the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands as the
believers were only baptized in the Name of the lord Jesus..
Acts 10:44-47 They spoke with tongues … We can see that
speaking with tongues is associated with having the fullness of the
Holy Spirit.(example of the Holy Spirit baptism first, then water).
Acts 19:1-7 Example of water baptism first, then
baptized in the Holy Spirit by speaking in tongues.
Mark 16:17 Jesus said to speak in new tongues.
(It is interesting to note that in all four gospels, Jesus
never baptized with water only the Holy Spirit. The water baptism is
also needed according to the scriptures.)
1 Corinthians 14:18 Paul spoke in tongues more than anyone.
IF JESUS TOLD BELIEVERS TO SPEAK IN TONGUES AND PAUL SAID HE DID
… IT MUST BE IMPORTANT FOR US. WHY? THIS IS THE OUTWARD EVIDENCE
OF THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, WHICH IS FOR POWER (Acts 1:8)
AND:
1 Corinthians 14:2 You are praying to God, not to man.
1 Corinthians 14:4 You build up yourself, you edify
yourself.

Luke 11:9-13 If you have asked for the Holy Spirit, I believe
He has come. This means you get to speak with tongues … it’s just
that you may not have done it yet!
AGAIN, WHY DO YOU WANT TO SPEAK IN TONGUES? SO THE ANOINTING
WILL RISE TO A HIGH MEASURE AND:
U For self-edification.
U So you don’t overlook something that needs to be
prayed to God.
U For the Gifts of the Holy Spirit to manifest.
U For the Power of the Holy
Spirit to rise to a high measure.
To receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, you ask Jesus to
baptize you in the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:4 They spoke … How does anyone speak? You use your
mouth, your vocal cords, your tongue. Then the Holy Spirit gives you
the utterance. The sounds, the words, that you will not understand.
This is all your option … to start and stop your tongue as you will.
